Renfro Brands / Dr. Scholl’s

Packaging design for multiple tiers of sock products sold in retailers nationwide.

The Grove team was tasked with elevating Dr. Scholl’s sock packaging to the level of other Dr. Scholl’s product lines. Using their knowledge and experience with CPGs, we developed packaging for multiple product tiers targeting different sale channels, including big box stores, department stores, and pharmacies.

Packaging Design

Packaging Strategy

Our team started by going into the marketplace to evaluate competitors’ products and packaging. This helped us identify the best ways to stand out at the point of sale.

Using consistent design elements and bold brand colors across all SKUs helped us visually highlight the Renfro/Dr. Scholl’s brand and connect our socks and legwear to other product lines.

Packaging Concepts

After exploring different visual concepts, we found the perfect blend of design elements that could be applied across all three product tiers. Our team developed new color and iconography systems to help consumers understand the range of products available and differentiate between specific use cases. This allowed us to create distinct packaging styles for big box stores, department stores, and pharmacies that remained true to the brand while feeling at home in different retail environments.

Print Management

Our team collaborated with print vendors to identify unique printing techniques and metallic substrates that could be used to further distinguish the Medical Products line. This approach helped us give the line a distinctive look and feel that set it apart from other products in the market.
